"Skydivers Away!"
The 2010 Skydiving Season will be in Operation until Oct. 31, 2010

Congratulations to our newest members of Alaska Sky Sports Skydiving Club...completing the Static Line and Tandem Progression Programs!

We have several students advancing quickly with the Static Line Program and Tandem Progression Program.  Several have already successfully done several solos and are well on their way to getting their A License!  A couple of them already have!  Great job, guys and gals!  The Static Line Program is proving to be a great addition to Alaska Sky Sports' curriculum.

As a safety reminder for up jumpers, Alaska Sky Sports does not allow hook turns on landing, we require AADs, and please, while practicing all safety procedures, remember to plan your skydive, and skydive your plan, always spacing yourselves tracking away and looking out for each other under canopy.   Alaska Sky Sports skydiving club members need to always be aware that safety comes first!

Alaska Sky Sports would like to recognize our appreciation for the extra work our Tandem and Static Line Instructors have put in, due to one less instructor since July, Shannon Jardine and Tom Lanners.  Thanks, guys...we all appreciate you!  And our best wishes goes out to Josh Koons for a speedy and total recovery and look forward to his return in the 2011 skydiving season!  (For more info, go to www.josh-koons.com

Also, a BIG congratulations goes out to Alaska Sky Sports' Videographer wife and husband team, Jason and Tara Moore on their fist baby....a beautiful little girl, Lucy Lynn...she is going to be a heart breaker!

July was nasty weather month!  It seemed Mother Nature was out to play dirty tricks on the skydiving efforts!  However, we managed to squeeze in a few good jumps now and then.

August proved to be a little better.  Although, one Sunday was called due to hale!!  We had some tandems, driving long distances, waiting around all day for weather and then sadly were disappointed because the weather never cooperated.  But, some, who patiently waited it out, got lucky and jumped.

So, due to the many tandems being weathered out, Alaska Sky Sports is offering a discounted rate for those people who actually came out and signed waivers and were not able to jump due to weather. The discounted rate will be $25 off the regular price and is affective in the month of September.  Give us a call when you'd like to reschedule your tandem jump!

We are also extending "Toss Your Boss" Month, because of bad weather, so if you didn't get a chance to throw yours, you'll have another month to try and make it happen.  (There is also a discounted rate of $25 off your boss's first tandem jump.)

Don't forget about our discounted rates for groups of 4 or more and for our active military people.
($25 off your first tandem skydive!)

Here's hoping for better weather and a great finale to our 2010 season!
